J&K gains Rs 45 Cr from PSU CSR | KNO

Srinagar, Dec 09 (KNO): Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have steadily increased their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) spending in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir over the last three financial years, with allocations touching Rs 45.11 crore in 2023-24, official data reveals. According to details submitted in the Lok Sabha, CSR expenditure by PSUs in J&K stood at Rs 24.69 crore in 2021-22, increased marginally to Rs 25.87 crore in 2022-23, before recording a sharp jump in 2023-24. Officials as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said the CSR deployment is governed by the Companies Act, and the Government does not direct companies to spend in any specific geography or community. “CSR planning and utilisation remain a Board-driven process, and no community-specific or district-wise expenditure data is centrally maintained.” The Ministry also informed that CSR data for all states and UTs including sector-wise and company-wise details is publicly available on the national CSR portal—(KNO)
